We may be stuck at home, but that doesn't mean there isn't lots of cool things to fill our time, and to be connected with other people- albeit virtually.
One thing I miss about being at the library is gathering for our Literary Society book club. I miss getting to have those battle of opinions, or swoon over well loved moments or characters with like minded individuals.
Since we can't gather in-person, one great option is the Nerdist Book Club! This month they are reading Dune by Frank Herbert. Essentially they are reading the book in advance of the Timothée Chalamet movie adaptation. Here are some awesome images of the 2021 movie!!
May 6: First half of “Dune”
May 13: Second half of “Dune”
May 20: First half of “Muad’Dib”
May 27: Second half of “Muad’Dib”
June 3: First half of “The Prophet”
June 10: Second half of “The Prophet”
For the first episode on May 6, stop at the end of the chapter that reads, “…For the father, nothing.” This is where the discussion will cap off. Check back for specific instructions for where to end for the next one.Episodes will stream every Wednesday on both the Nerdist and Geek & Sundry YouTube channels and also on Geek & Sundry‘s Twitch channel. Afterward, join the hosts on Maude Garrett’s Geek Bomb Patreon ($5) for a Q&A where you can ask questions directly.
